December 12, 2018 – Burlington County Freeholders voted to approve closure of County Routes 528 and 664 when New Jersey Natural Gas moves forward with construction of the Southern Reliability Link (SRL) pipeline. Currently, over one million people in 83 municipalities in Monmouth, Ocean, and Burlington counties rely upon a single, interstate pipeline for their homes and businesses. SRL will address this single point of failure and add resiliency and redundancy to the system.
“This decision by the Burlington County Freeholders is one that will benefit all New Jerseyans. Pipelines provide natural gas energy to millions of New Jerseyans, keeping energy bills manageable throughout the cold winter months. ELEC 825 applauds the Burlington County Freeholders for their commitment to bringing affordable energy to New Jersey.”
